The Blackhawks are coming off of an exciting game against the Blues on Friday. The first half of the first period was probably the worst hockey the team has played all year. Our guys did not control the tempo of the game from the start, but after a couple scuffles that resulted in having four men in the penalty box the momentum started to move in the ‘Hawks direction. They were able to take the game to overtime, but lost while trying to kill a penalty.

No one should be happy that the team came away with one point from that game. The Blackhawks are the better team, and should not have come out looking so weak. They will need to step it up against the best team in the league tonight.

The San Jose Sharks are a highly skilled team with a lot of size, and if they come out playing a physical game the ‘Hawks could be in trouble. Luckily the Blackhawks will miss Evgeni Nabokov due to injury, but his replacement, ex-Blackhawk Brian Boucher has done well in his absence.  He is putting up 1.49 GAA, a .940 SV%, and has a record of 4-1-1.

Starting in net: No surprise here, Cristobal Huet will start tonight.
